Oberstar's defeat leaves transit advocates crying

U.S. House transportation committee chairman Jim Oberstar's major electoral upset defeat two weeks ago in the seemingly invulerable Democratic stronghold of northeastern Minnesota has transit advocates verklempt, according to today's StarTribune:
"I weep when I think about it," Hennepin County Commissioner Peter McLaughlin, a key mover in Twin Cities light rail, said of the loss of Oberstar.
